Who this is for

  • Companies on AWS whose bill has grown faster than the plan behind it
  • Teams approaching an AWS private pricing agreement, or its renewal
  • Founders, boards and investors who need a signed opinion on an AWS estate

FinOps connects engineering decisions to the AWS bill: where the money goes, what to change, which commitments to buy, and how to keep the savings. I do the work myself, on your account, rather than handing over a report.

How an engagement starts

  1. Step 1 of 3

    20-minute scoping call

Your AWS spend, the problem, and what a good outcome looks like.

  2. Step 2 of 3

    A fixed number

You get a fixed price and scope for the package that fits. If none fits, I say so.

  3. Step 3 of 3

    Work starts

Access is agreed up front and scoped to the work.

What I don't take on

  • I do not work with my employer, with any company in its group, or with their competitors, suppliers and business partners.
  • I use no employer information, tools, equipment or materials, and I work only outside my working hours. All benchmarks come from public sources and your own data.

FinOps consulting questions

Which package should I start with?

It depends on where you are. If the bill has never had a proper pass, start with the sprint, because it changes the bill rather than describing it. If a private pricing agreement or its renewal is within a year, take the negotiation package, ideally after that pass. The review is for when an investor, board or auditor asks. The retainer keeps costs down once the first round of savings is in.

How much does AWS FinOps consulting cost?

The sprint is a €5,400 discovery fee plus 15% of the savings it realizes over the following 12 months. Negotiation starts at €4,000, or a share of first-year contract savings, and the independent review at €4,000. The retainer is €1,800 a month for at least three months. All company prices are net of VAT.

Do I need a FinOps tool as well?

Not to start. Cost Explorer, Budgets and the Cost and Usage Report cover most of what a first pass needs. A third-party tool earns its fee once several teams need their own view of spend. I have no reseller relationship with any FinOps vendor, so the advice is not tied to a product.

Do you work alongside my AWS account team or partner?

Yes, and independently of them. Your account team and any reseller stay in place. I do not resell AWS, so the advice carries no margin, and every benchmark comes from public sources and your own billing data.
